Good afternoon,

Our Chelmsley Wood neighbourhood Inspector has spoken with a member from the group, and an open line of contact remains to ensure we keep the peace in the area, and any concerns are heard.  

We're also aware of a video on social media showing a group of men being stopped in Meriden Park. Stop and search powers belong exclusively to the police acting under specific statutory legislation such as the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances around a property being damaged.

Keeping people within local communities safe is our priority and we will take appropriate action when a crime is reported to us.

Anyone with concerns should contact us and not carry out stop and searches themselves.

We do not have a partnership with this group, we will work to ensure they follow the appropriate laws and guidance during any activities they carry out.
